Seventh Annual "Dog Days Calendar" Now Available at Animal Welfare Organizations throughout Chicagoland

Calendar Will Bring Much-Needed Funds to Organizations that Help Homeless Pets

CHICAGO, Fall 2006 - As the dog days of summer come to an end, Evanston-based Sutton Studios, led by David Sutton, a widely-published photographer, today announces the launch of the seventh annual Dog Days Calendar. The 2007 Dog Days Calendar is now available for purchase at Chicagoland animal welfare organizations, humane societies and animal shelters. One hundred percent of the proceeds will support these organizations' tireless rescue efforts.

Sutton Studios reports that demand for the Dog Days Calendar is at an all-time high this year. In response to this high demand, the photography studio has produced 10,000 calendars - up from 7,000 in 2005. The calendars will be distributed to 25 animal organizations that welcome the calendars - and depend on the proceeds - each year. The funds will be used to assist animal welfare organizations in raising money so they can continue to help many unfortunate homeless animals in Chicago.

"Each year the calendar helps our animal shelter raise much needed funds. People are actually inspired to visit us just so they can purchase the calendar and many times these visitors make a donation above and beyond the suggested amount," said Linda Gelb, president of the C.A.R.E. for the Evanston Animal Shelter, an all volunteer organization that works with Evanston's municipal Animal Shelter to help find homes for stray dogs and cats. "We love David's work and he is truly a wonderful person for donating his talent to help shelters and the animals we care for."

The Dog Days Calendar features 12 exceptionally photogenic dogs from the Chicago metro area and surrounding suburbs, including Des Plaines, Golf, Grayslake, Libertyville, Oak Park, St. Charles and Wilmette. In Sutton's emblematic style, each portrait is featured in fine-art black and white and exudes a warm, insightful and whimsical feel.

Sutton says, "My passion is pet photography and I take pride in offering my life's work to benefit the subject-matter I love most. My photography captures the essence of each of the 12 "calendar dogs" featured, showing off each pet's personality and unique relationship with their owners."

The calendars may be purchased at any of the 25 participating Chicago-area shelters for a suggested donation of $10.00 per calendar. A complete listing of participating animal organizations is available at www.suttonstudios.com.

About the Dog Days Calendar

The Dog Days Calendar was originally conceived by Roger Gibboni of Walden Printing in Montgomery, New York. While Walden Printing published the first five editions of the calendar, Sutton Studios is proud to have brought the entire production of the calendar to the Chicago area. Sutton Studios has since published the 2005 and 2007 calendars (no calendar was printed for 2006). The calendars are provided at no cost to animal welfare organizations, humane societies and animal shelters. Its mission is to raise awareness and stem the tide of the pet overpopulation that leads to the tragic destruction of millions of dogs and cats in the U.S. each year.

Several organizations donated resources and funds to help make the production of the Dog Days Calendar possible. A complete list of donated services and calendar advertisers are available at www.suttonstudios.com.
